The 24th of August was Di's 60th birthday. To celebrate Claire and Kerry hosted a family party at their house with Matt, B and Evan as well as me and Leah, and John and Di of course. It was a fantastic night, and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Fantastic food, great fun and Evan running around non-stop.

Leah was given some tickets to see Shakespeare's "12th Night" at the Open-air Theatre inside Regent's Park. The show was great, much funnier than we expected and we are able to follow it surprisingly well. We had a fantastic time, and would like to go again.

Rich and Louise's wedding was gorgeous and the weather was amazing. The ceremony was held at the Sculpture Gallery at Woburn Abbey (about an hour north of London) and the reception was in the backyard of Louise's parents house, where they set up two marquees.

York

The Easter break was a great chance for us to see historic York and Durham on the same trip. York is about 5 and a half hours away with Durham a further 90 minutes. The main reason we wanted to see them was for the magnificent Cathedral's, but there was much more to see than we could fit into a single trip.

Faced with a Saturday afternoon of doing nothing, we decided to get out and enjoy some fresh air. We didn't pick the greatest of days though, very rainy and cloudy. More so in the moutains of the Brecon Beacons National Park. That didn't stop as though, and three and half hours later and some tremendous scenery, we were well and truly stuffed.

To celebrate the release of Episode III, the final Star Wars episode, London's Leicester Square played host to a whole array of Star Wars activities. The theatres there were playing all five of the released Star Wars films all day, with the premiere of Episode III taking place that night. Naturally, I had to go and check it out. Unbelievably, a raffle was drawn at the completion of the Episode II session that we saw, and we won tickets for the premiere! We got to walk down the red carpet and everything, spotting George Lucas and Hayden Christensen.

We walked a tiny bit of the Pembrokeshire Coast Walk here and loved it so much that we hope to do a bigger stretch next summer.
